Requirements

The RCM Support Specialist will play a vital role in the Revenue Cycle Management department working closely with RCM leadership to ensure the efficient timely flow of overall billing related operations to promote the department. The RCM Support Specialist will perform RCM related tasks pertinent to successful billing operations. In an effort to promote cooperative coordination across the organization, the RCM Support Specialist will collaborate with relevant SOC departments to ensure operational alignment and continuous data-driven quality improvement across the revenue cycle continuum. Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn will be integral to the success of this role and to the efficiency and efficacy of billing operations.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Open, process, sort and distribute incoming RCM mail
  • Process checks and prepare deposit cover sheet
  • Scan EOBs and check copies to local folders and upload to appropriate billing system folders
  • Record payment details via excel reports
  • Verify accuracy of insurance payments received and posted to the billing system
  • Analyze data to identify, diagnose, and resolve billing issues expeditiously
  • Review necessary information in billing system in order to respond to management questions
  • Researches accounts in the billing system as necessary to answer patient questions
  • Obtain demographics and insurance information from client EMR systems
  • Assist with data entry to the billing system
  • Download medical records from SOC health maintenance system, label and upload to specified areas of the billing system
  • Assists with AR monitoring to ensure the continuous effective flow and prompt reconciliation of accounts
  • Assist in monitoring the patient AR process to ensure that Client specific patient management processes are being implemented and followed
  • Assist in the preparation and review of reports from the billing system
  • Researches accounts in the billing system as necessary to answer patient questions
  • Refer complex accounts to management for further action
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for improved billing functions such as coding, charge entry, insurance follow-up, and payment posting
  • Strict adherence to regulatory, operational, and legal compliance protocols
  • Responsibilities may include other revenue cycle billing related tasks as necessitated by the operational implementation plan
