BURNCO is looking to immediately hire a talented Network Administrator to join our Information Technology team. Located in our Milliken, Colorado Office, as the successful candidate you will report directly to the Infrastructure Operations Lead. As our Network Administrator you will assist in the organization and management of the overall network, ensuring the stable operations of BURNCO’s network and telecom environment. The BURNCO Network Administrator shares responsibility for the operational support of our network and telecommunications infrastructure LANs and WANs, including both wired and wireless. This work covers any changes to the network including equipment installation, software upgrades and patching in a manner that minimizes the disruption of business operations. In an unplanned outage, it will be crucial that you respond rapidly to diagnose, execute repairs and shorten downtime. In addition to these overall responsibilities, you will also be involved in:

What You Will Be Doing

Strategy amp; Planning

  • Assist leadership in the design and implementation surrounding short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements (including disaster recovery and back up strategies);
  • Maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network/telecom architecture and IT operations;

Administration amp; Deployment

  • Prepare work reports and other documentation for operational and project related efforts. Work with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure IT operational products and services;
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot networking hardware, software, and communication peripherals.

Operational Management

  • Assist in day to day operations of the network infrastructure;
  • Participate in troubleshooting network outages or performance issues;
  • Determine cause of high priority incidents to ensure they are prevented from happening in the future;
  • Resolve incidents and trouble tickets as per established service levels;
  • Install and configure network equipment and maintain network connectivity;
  • Practice network, UPS and communications asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information;
  • Execute network security measures as directed by security and senior staff and monitor for threats;
  • Perform technical administration of the Unified Communications environment;
  • Works closely with Senior Network Team members to propose improvements to the network infrastructure and executes various projects to improve network service availability;
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the BURNCO IT team, decision-makers, and end users regarding pertinent technology activities;
  • Track, analyze and report on trends in network/telecom requests;
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of usage guides, and FAQ lists for end users;
  • Participate in change management reviews and advisory.

Reality of the Job

  • On-call availability required;
  • Frequent travel to multiple BURNCO sites required;
  • Routine inspection of devices, systems and cables in floors and ceilings;
  • Excellent hands/fingers dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and handling other computer components;
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as switches, UPS and peripherals.
