Job Description

Aeva’s Engineering Program Management Team is looking for a resourceful, energetic Engineering Project Specialist (EPS) who will be responsible for managing key areas of HW Engineering programs with exposure to cross-functional teams and overseas vendors. The role will interface with Engineering Project Managers, Product Design, and Operations to manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) and manufacturer communications to coordinate logistics of parts for development builds. This role will also manage the purchase order process for material required for each system build. What you'll be doing:
  • Oversee release of BOM and supporting documentation in Teamcenter PLM system
  • Creating, structuring, and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) during engineering development
  • Creating, reviewing and approving engineering change orders (ECOs), providing feedback to engineers when necessary
  • Collecting and maintaining component data sheets, lifecycle information, and compliance documentation in PLM
  • Manage material for local and overseas development builds: procure and organize material, manage logistics and distribution
  • Track system delivery schedules, ensuring that teams receive material in a timely fashion
  • Communicate material demand and delivery schedules to the Supply Chain team for them to be able to plan accordingly for builds
  • Support excess materials management mitigation/disposition activities
  • Managing communication with vendors and CM partners closely to ensure parts arrive on time, trouble-shooting any issues that may arise to prevent delays and optimize logistic flows
  • Communicate material demand and delivery schedules to Module teams so they can plan accordingly
  • Oversee internal allocation requests and fulfillment
  • Ensure any logistics issues with deliveries are resolved in a timely manner
  • Build Matrix management in coordination with the Engineering Program Manager
  • Manage and track expenses for each prototype build
  • Creating purchase requests, maintaining budgets, confirming goods receipts and processing invoices
  • Travel internationally to support engineering builds

  • Experience with overseas vendors
  • Understanding of basic BOM components (preferably for hardware products)
  • BA/BS degree or 3+ years of industry experience
Nice to have:
  • Familiarity with component data sheets and an understanding of common compliance standards (REACH, RoHS, etc)
  • Experience in identifying and sourcing alternate EE components
  • Relationships with component distributors/suppliers
