Job Description

What does it take to translate ecological regeneration into ecological assets? How do we support land managers make a shift to regenerative practices in a way that allows for bottom up, rather than top down solutions? What actors need to be involved? The RND Science team is working to build a community of scientists, technologists, land stewards, and project developers who can work together to create systems that make it easy to use nature based solutions to promote global regeneration.

The science program coordinator will work at the intersection of all these groups to facilitate synchronization of the goals and objectives across teams in a way which fosters the culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and innovation. As a science coordinator, you will work with internal and external parties to help in the development of programs and aid in project management. Other responsibilities will include working to develop relationships with scientists, project developers, and third party organizations interested in engaging with our community.

Requirements

Internal Coordination

  • Facilitate the planning and successful execution of project goals with our teams of scientists
  • Track progress of new and ongoing projects using management best practices and tools (notion, google suite, google calendar) and lead science team sprint planning
  • Help organize inter-team communication and align science team goals, priorities, and objectives with both company wide goals and cross disciplinary team goals
  • Ensure effective communication across teams, and partner with scientists and project managers to identify emerging issues
  • Support in scheduling of meetings both internal and external

External Coordination

  • Provide resources and direct inquiries surrounding the larger RND science community to appropriate actors (Land Steward Project Coordinator, RND Science Team member, methodology reviewer)
  • Process inbound inquiries from interested methodology designers and project developers, including those with just an idea for a concept note and those with a fully developed methodology
  • Support the science team in participating and representing Regen Network Development at various community events
Attributes of an Ideal Candidate
  • A degree in a relevant scientific or quantitative field such as geography, climate science, environmental science or closely-related field preferred; industry experience may be considered as a substitute.
  • 3+ years of project management experience with familiarity working in an agile framework
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and on a team
  • Proficient in context switching and ability to work well in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work with project managers to communicate progress to clients and translate the result of scientific analyses into actionable insights
