About Encodia
Encodia is a rapidly growing platform company that is developing a new generation of protein analysis tools based on single-molecule protein sequencing. Our goal is to make protein sequencing easy and ubiquitous by using a novel reverse-translation technology that turns peptide sequences into DNA. The DNA can be read by a DNA sequencer, providing a path to breakthrough proteomics research at a scale that is not practical or cost-effective using current technologies.
Encodia is seeking to recruit a BS/MS level Research Associate with 2 - 5 years of experience in production and QC of microbead materials. The successful candidate will possess excellent lab skills in performing Ramp;D and production operations consistently and hands-on experience in analytical tools for assessing materials and surfaces. This position will involve research and collaboration with teams that interface between material science, chemistry, and bio-conjugation on solid supports. - Supporting development and manufacturing of bioconjugated materials including beads.
- Performing experiments and executing production operations according to established SOPs and ensuring the integrity and quality of products under QC requirements.
- Analyzing experimental data and accurate tracking of production batch records, QC data, and inventory.
- Proactively troubleshooting experiments in dialogue with supervisor and teams.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues through oral and written reports.
- Multi-tasking and completing assigned projects on time.
Requirements
- BS with 2 - 5 years or MS with 1 - 3 years of industry experience in materials science, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field.
- Must have experience with solid-support synthesis, surface modification, and bioconjugation.
- Must have experience with analytical characterization of materials and bead/surface chemistry.
- Experience working with DNA, peptides, and proteins is highly desired.
- Hands-on experience with qPCR/PCR, gel electrophoresis, FACS, nanodrop, UV/Vis, and FTIR is a plus.
- A quick learner with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment as a motivated, enthusiastic, proactive, detail-oriented, and organized individual.
- Desire to be part of a rapidly evolving organization and taking products and processes to the commercialization-ready level.
