Job Description

Our Client’s construction estimators are result-oriented self-starters with positive attitudes. They are problem solvers who can switch between multiple tasks and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. They are an integral part of the Our Client’s claim handling process, and as such, need to be able to handle a rapid paced environment, and model behaviors that reflect Our Client’s values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is a summary of the essential functions of the construction estimator. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Accurately measure and sketch losses in a timely manner in line with Our Client’s quality standards.
  2. Assist PAs in inspecting, scoping, and estimating losses as needed.
  3. Ensure PA’s estimates are in line with Our Client’s quality standards.
  4. Photo-document losses in detail with DSLR, 360, and Infrared cameras, as well as aerial drones.
  5. Create visual aids for Allied presentations and claim submissions, as needed by PAs.
  6. Be a good team member, helping others where needed.
  • Investigate potential causes of loss, pursuant to a PA’s request.
  • Have a clean driving record and reliable form of transportation.
  • Properly document the claim files pursuant to Our Client’s Standard Operating Procedures.
  1. Order expert reports for PAs.
  2. Extract and ship samples to ITEL for processing.

Requirements

  1. Preferably have an understanding of building components or have the desire to learn.
  2. Excellent written, verbal and special communication skills.
  3. At least 3 years of experience in a construction estimator role.
  4. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  5. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  6. Goal oriented and comfortable working with metrics.
  7. Ability to calculate basic math within the Imperial System.
  8. Effectively use a variety of hand tools, such as a tape measure, laser, or crowbar.
  9. Must have the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time and be able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
