Role: Financial Controller
eVisit is looking for an experienced Controller to undertake all aspects of the company's financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as development and management of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have SaaS experience and a proven ability to support a fast-growing organization. The Controller will report to the VP - Finance amp; Accounting.
Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver on all accounting operations including Revenue Recognition, A/R, A/P, GL, Reconciliations, Billing, Cost Accounting, and all other associated accounting activities
- Research, document and enforce technical accounting practices for compliance
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Oversee and support month-end and year-end close process
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate and complete annual audits
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting, including Federal, State, Payroll, Sales and Use Tax filings, among others
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls, as well comply with legislation and established best practices
- Provide recommendations for process, applications, and improvements
- Manage and provide support for the accounting team
- Perform regular reviews and embrace the advancement and enrichment of team knowledge through training and teaching
- Ensure the right team members are on the bus
- Support interdepartmental finance and accounting-related needs
- Provide additional controller duties as necessary
Requirements
- Experience in SaaS organization
- Commitment to eVisit’s core values
- Minimum of 5+ years overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Advanced degree in Accounting
- CPA or CMA preferred
- Excellent analytical skills
- Experience with creating financial statements and C-level presentation
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Excellent accounting software, database and administration experience (e.g Oracle NetSuite)
- Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
- Advanced to Expert MS Office/Excel
- Open communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Well-organized with ability to prioritize
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Big 4 experience preferred
- Must be adaptable, comfortable with fast-paced, evolving work environment
- Experience with growing tech start-up(s) beneficial
