Job Description

The GNU Group A division of Impec Group is a San Francisco Bay Area-based, cutting-edge environmental graphic design and project management firm. GNU Group is aggressively recruiting for a Wayfinding Project Manager or Project Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience in the world of Environmental Graphics and Signage or a related field of expertise. Our new team member will lead or participate in the management of the PLANNING, DESIGN, and DOCUMENTING of Architectural Sign Programs, Integrated Branding Programs, and Wayfinding Programs for exterior and interior built environments. Our key areas of project expertise are in the healthcare, retail, corporate, hospitality, and mixed-use sectors. Experience coordinating with Architectural partners is a big plus.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop project proposals for scope and budget in the business development stage
  • Develop detailed workplans and schedules
  • Provide internal project teams with clear guidance on scope, budget, and schedule
  • Build and manage trusting and positive relationships with clients, architects, general, sub-contractors, and all cross-trade partners.
  • Lead primary stakeholder meetings to review planning, design, construction, and project process documents.
  • Project in progress strategic planning amp; financial management throughout the project lifecycle
  • Procurement and installation management

While our preference is to have team members based in the office, we have adapted to a hybrid workforce and will consider a fully remote role for a candidate for the right qualifications.

Requirements

Our successful candidate will bring:

  • 2+ years’ experience in the administration of signage and wayfinding, construction, architecture, or related field
  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Proactive, flexible, team player who is comfortable working in a small company environment taking on a leadership role
  • Organized, with excellent problem solving, time management and risk management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of personalities
  • Able to adjust to dynamic project situations and respond accordingly
  • Able to take coaching and feedback
  • Proficient in Mac-based software, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
  • Sign Agent Pro experience is a plus
  • Able to read architectural and engineering plans
  • Familiar with general contracting/architectural terminology and processes
  • Understanding of Architectural phasing and timelines
  • Mastery of ADA guidelines as they apply to signage.
