The Data Analyst is responsible for retrieving, investigating, and visualizing data in order to provide strategic insights to senior management and clients in a fast-paced medical communications agency supporting biotech and pharmaceutical clients.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement data retrieval processes and other strategies to optimize analytics efficiency and quality
- Generate insights from medical literature, clinical trial data, social media, and other publicly available information
- Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata
- Provide technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing
- Provide quality assurance of imported data
- Generate reports, analyses, and dashboards from single or multiple sources.
- Assess and implement third-party analytic systems and software
- Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization
- Process confidential data and information according to guidelines
- Transform data to insights for senior management and clients
- Train end-users on new reports and dashboards
- Communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams and clients
- Deliver ad hoc analytics and research projects
Requirements
Proficient in Python or R, SQL, and retrieval of data using Application Programming Interfaces Analytics experience including data preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, data visualization, modeling Experience with software including Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense, Excel, PowerPoint Proactive, high-energy, reliable, and collaborative Flexible, deadline oriented, and ability to work as part of a multifunctional team Self-starter who works well with minimal oversight Ability to be resourceful and self-driven while supporting a variety of different roles on a project Maintain client confidentiality at all times Ability to evaluate, interpret and analyze both written and verbal communications Ability to respond quickly and amicably to changing client needs and conditions in a diplomatic fashion Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills Understands and complies with policies and procedures as outlined in the Cello Health Communications Corporate Policies and Procedures manual Occasional travel may be requiredEducation and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college is required Master’s degree in data analytics, data science, business analytics, or related field is preferred Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases Understanding of addressing and metadata standards High-level written and verbal communication skills Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field Experience or knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry a plusBenefits
