Job Summary
The Automation, Instrumentation, amp; Electrical (Iamp;E) Technician will support work on a combination of sustaining activities and engineering project, including new product development. Under supervision, the AIamp;E Technician performs a variety of engineering work in planning, installing, monitoring and maintaining control systems and machinery.
Job Duties
- Perform and document maintenance, calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic instruments and systems.
- Calibrate, troubleshoot and repair plant instrumentation i.e., transmitters, analyzers, control valves, switches, relays, etc.
- Inspect, repair, replace transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, and electrical systems
- Work with a wide variety of instruments including, ultrasonic, guided wave radar, mass flow, pressure transducers, RTDs, etc.
- Maintain files, logs and drawings for all designated instrumentation and electrical equipment
- Maintain instrumentation and electrical spare parts inventory to maintain plant reliability
- Understand piping and instrument diagrams, signal flow diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, one-line drawings, loop sheets, and wire lists
- Perform all duties in manner consistent with environmental, health and safety policies
- Participate in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdowns. Provide technical and hands on support as required during shutdowns
- Perform repairs and maintenance on electrical systems including low voltage DC to 480VAC
- Able to work off instrument drawings and Pamp;ID’s, identify end devices and components
Requirements
- Journey man electrician certification preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3 plus years of experience in instrumentation of equipment required
- Natural gas industry experience required
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the design, installation and troubleshooting of electrical equipment
- Ability to read and interpret Pamp;IDs, Electrical Schematics and One-line diagrams required
- Working knowledge of PLC, HMI and automated equipment amp; standard instrumentation types (4-20 mA, 0-5 V, pulse, MODBUS) required
- Hands-on experience with the following equipment required:
- Control/Automated Valves
- Pressure/Temperature Transmitters
- Motor operated valves.
- Mass/Mag Flowmeters
- RTD/Temperature Transmitters
- PH/ORP/Conductivity Sensors
- Ability to work independently AND with cross-functional teams of Electrical technicians, mechanics, welders, operations personnel, engineers, and safety professionals required
- US work authorization without sponsorship required
- Ability to pass physical, hair follicle drug test, driving, and background check required
- Ability to physically push pull and lift 50lbs or more required
