Job Description

Our partner is seeking a Director of Business Development in Orlando, FL. The incumbent will lead key initiatives in the areas of organic growth. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this member of the senior leadership team will be responsible for building and maintaining the opportunity pipeline, executing the company's capture process, developing a high probability of win (PWIN) for identified opportunities, and growing business within the targeted market areas.
Candidates must have or be able to obtain a Secret Level Clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and oversees the required steps for targeted opportunities, as well as succinct reporting on progress towards stated business goals and objectives.
  • Manages and leverages resources to create, identify, develop, and qualify opportunities in order to achieve a robust and targeted opportunity pipeline aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Achieves growth and new business sales goals through winning new business, securing contract recompetes, and driving organic program growth.
  • Oversees and participates in regular searches of opportunity databases (Govwin, Sam.gov) to identify potential opportunities to pursue.
  • Qualifies identified opportunities through a thorough understanding of capability gaps, teaming potential, SOW size and scope, administrative requirements, and customer mission requirements.
  • Makes recommendations to the leadership team on a regular amp; reoccurring basis for opportunities to consider pursuing.
  • Gathers intelligence and building relationships with customers.
  • Positions the company for a successful proposal through a comprehensive capture plan with detailed milestones and events.
  • Develops the proposal strategy for handoff to the operations team for proposal development and submission.
  • Assists in guiding buying organizations by working with internal technical and program management teams to develop responses for requests for information (RFI), sources sought, market survey's, white papers, presentations, and capability summaries.
  • Makes recommendations on proposal capacity planning.
  • Runs weekly BD updates for senior leadership to keep the entire team informed of key milestones and events.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related subject;
  • 5+ years of Industry (Federal Contractor) experience in business development and/or capture;
  • Experience in proposal writing and proposal development;
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Experience with GovWin, Sam.Gov, and other government contracting search tools;
  • Available to travel up to 25% per month within CONUS; and
  • Experience in supporting the proposal development process in a small business environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relationships with Military Services Cyber Organizations, (e.g.: Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific, Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic, Program Executive Office Simulation Training amp; Instrumentation, Army Contracting Center Orlando, Threat Systems Management Office (TSMO)
  • Experience working in a Small Business;
  • Shipley (or equivalent) trained as a Capture Manager;
  • Former service in a Department of Defense organization
  • Experience with adhering to a capture process using a CRM tool
  • Relationships with Military Services Cyber Organizations, (e.g.: Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific, Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic, Program Executive Office Simulation Training amp; Instrumentation, Army Contracting Center Orlando, Threat Systems Management Office (TSMO)
