The Payroll Analyst is responsible for all US payroll-related processing and reporting activities, as well as various finance-related activities, such as budgets, expenses, audits, and financial performance.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for all payroll-related processing activities
- Oversee and quality control the data entry of all payroll records into accounting and HR systems
- Prepare monthly journal entries, including bi-monthly payroll vouchers as well as monthly payroll allocations to business units, required accruals and other reconciling entries.
- Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
- Ensures that mandatory and voluntary withholdings and deductions are accurately calculated and reported
- Keep informed of regulations, interpretations, and practices pertaining to the payroll accounting function
- Assists employees or managers with questions about payroll policies and pay discrepancies
- Maintains payroll-related files and records
- Completes new hire setup in payroll systems
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions will be processed accurately and timely
- Process wage garnishments, liens, in accordance with federal and state laws
- Assists in the preparation of year end W-2s or other related tax filings or reports
- Prepare periodic/special reports for government agencies, tax authorities, insurance industry associations, and other units of the Company as required
- Respond to various audit and tax agency queries and requests
- Conducts quantitative analyses of information affecting budgets, expenses, and other financial projects
- Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters cooperation and teamwork
- Understands and complies with policies and procedures as outlined in the Cello Health Communications Corporate Policies and Procedures manual
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
- Proven experience as a payroll administrator
- Deep knowledge of state and federal payroll and tax regulations
- Hands-on experience with payroll and time amp; attendance software (like Oracle, Kronos, or ADP)
- Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis
- Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market, and business environments
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical skills
- Flexible, deadline oriented, and ability to work as part of a multifunctional team
- Excellent ability to prioritize and adhere to deadlines
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritizing and taking initiative
- Ability to evaluate, interpret and analyze both written and verbal communications
- Practices of a high level of confidentiality; ability to work with an maintain confidential information
- Excellent data entry, basic accounting, and journal entry skills
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters cooperation and teamwork
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 4-6 years of experience as a Payroll Analyst, or the equivalent
- 24 years of experience in a Finance Analyst, role, or the equivalent
