Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced HR Manager to help build and support our unique culture and employment experience. While our business is less than 10 years old, we are a fast-paced growing e-commerce retailer and a formidable force in outdoor apparel. The position is based in our Boca Raton office and will require travel to our fulfilment center in Boynton Beach weekly. The HR Manager’s duties include management of HR administration, recruitment, employee relations, reward programs, and operating as a business partner to drive employee engagement and company performance. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing local business and leverage your prior experiences to help create an employer of choice experience for our expanding team. The role reports to the CFO, and requires a very hands-on approach, with demonstrated capability to manage stand-alone HR accountabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage administration and processing of HR processes including data management, payroll, time management, benefits, and regulatory programs like workers’ compensation
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings
  • Manage recruitment, candidate selection, and onboarding
  • Coordinate the performance appraisal program, employee development efforts, and corrective action processes.
  • Act as employee advocate and management advisor on employee relations, with responsibility for investigation, conflict resolution and disciplinary actions
  • Develop and implement HR programs, policies and procedures that are aligned with business requirements and comply with employment regulations.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, engagement and development through company newsletters, team functions, townhalls, etc.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive responsibility in human resource roles. Prefer some experience in a small business/high growth environment and with responsibility for multiple locations and/or multi-states
  • Extensive knowledge of HR policies, procedures, systems and compliance requirements
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; easily establishes rapport with a variety of populations
  • Adept at problem-solving and conflict resolution; pragmatic and ethical
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively, with strong project management and administrative skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; conscientious and committed to continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with HR software, payroll systems (Paychex preferred) and proficient with MS Office and G-Suite
  • Multi-lingual skills (Spanish)
