DealerPolicy is disrupting insurance distribution. We are teaming up with top auto retailers across the country to deliver a unique point of sale, technology enabled insurance solution to car-buying customers. Our efforts have earned us the Liberty Mutual Agent of the Future and Travelers Agent of the Year awards and best Tech Startup in VT from the Tech Tribune. In August 2021, DealerPolicy announced its $110 million Series C investment led by the Growth Equity business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Poised to expand rapidly, we are seeking an experienced User Researcher to take our product to the next level.

The Role:

Reporting to the Creative Director, the User Researcher will apply their extensive user research experience to influence the product evolution as a user advocate while educating on the research approach.

This role will strive to better understand how users are interacting with DealerPolicy products through qualitative research and user testing and to inform and evaluate new features and experiences.

What You Will Do:

  • Understand the strategic objectives of the company and build a research program to help meet those objectives.
  • Conduct end to end research: create a plan, recruit users, conduct the method, analyze the data, and present the results with actionable insights.
  • Interact directly with customers to collect feedback.
  • Compile and present learnings to the relevant stakeholders in a clear and actionable way they can use to design product improvements.
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders, receive feedback, and manage expectations.
  • Perform competitive assessment to ensure DealerPolicy remains focused on being the leader in the market.
  • Balance advocacy for our users with business needs.
  • Understand how research fits into the design amp; development process, and when to employ different methodologies.
  • Communicate and share learnings frequently through written reports and oral presentations.
  • Help to drive design decisions, feature priorities, and overall product vision.
  • Own multiple projects from start to finish while effectively managing timelines and expectations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years proven success leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact
  • M.S or B.S degree in Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, or other Behavioral Science related fields and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of success analyzing user needs via contextual research, usability testing, and other validation methods.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a multi-team cross-functional environment and influence without authority.
  • Bonus points for:
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (i.e., study plans, reports, visual presentations)
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Central/Eastern time zone preferred
