Job Description

Working in the eCommerce teams you’ll be responsible for growing our affiliate relationships in the US amp; UK for our most renowned brands.

You’ll be tasked with researching and identifying the best retailers to work with in each market, making sure we get the best commercial terms, and then working to optimise each market and relationship.. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in Affiliate Marketing, who loves working internationally and who would relish the chance to represent some of the best known publisher brands across Tech, Gaming, Home Interest amp; Woman’s Lifestyle

Key role responsibilities

  • Manage and develop high profile affiliate driven programmes/campaigns with our content teams to hit predefined targets.
  • Develop, build and maintain strong relationships with affiliate networks and retailers, ensuring the best CPA terms are available to us.
  • Sell eCommerce related sponsorship packages direct to clients in core verticals such as Tech, Gaming, Photography, Music, Home amp; Fashion
  • Responsible for trading the site to ensure the best commercial opportunities are surfaced while respecting the user experience
  • Identifying new growth opportunities, putting plans in place to recruit and onboard new affiliate partners.
  • Compile weekly/monthly/quarterly results
  • Work closely with the BI teams to understand the true effectiveness of CPA increases.
  • Work with our Hawk Price Comparison technology team to make sure we deliver the best price comparison experience for each of our markets, and to ensure each partner is set up and tracked correctly.
  • Continuously review performance, anticipate issues and plan corrective action
  • Follow the correct finance process and procedures, ensuring PO’s are sought and correct Netsuite changes are made.
  • Work closely with Product and Technology to ensure successful implementations, optimisation and tracking of partner campaigns.
  • Where relevant line manage and support any Affiliate Account Executives in the team.

Department Summary

The eCommerce department is the fastest growing team in Future. Over each of the last 5 years we have delivered significant double digit YoY growth, with revenue growing from almost nothing to over 79m (FY20) in just 5 years.

Our purpose is to unite readers with content that helps them make important buying decisions and make it easy for them to find the best deals on the products they want to buy.

Last year we worked with over 2000 retailers including Amazon, Walmart and John Lewis to help our audience buy an average of 70,000 products every day for a total sales value of nearly $1 billion. To deliver this we have developed our own proprietary Price Comparison solution, called Hawk, that allows our audiences to compare prices on over 2.5m products.

You’ll be part of a dynamic, forward thinking cross discipline team that thinks fast and acts more like a retailer than a publisher.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience of working in Affiliates, either on the publisher, retailer or affiliate network side.
  • Experience of multiple difference major affiliate network interfaces, including reporting and dashboards.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience or an understanding of international retail markets, particularly the UK amp; US, and knowledge of major retailers in each market.
  • Confident negotiator with experience of negotiating long term deals and building relationships.
  • Good technical and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel amp; Google. Sheets
  • Understanding of tags, trafficking, attribution modelling and affiliate tracking.
  • Excellent time management skills and great attention to detail
  • Able to spot trends, analyse large amounts of data and leading to insight driven decisions
  • An awareness of budgets and planning/forecasting cycles
  • Strong understanding of affiliate techniques and strategies
  • Confident presentation skills and ability to to talk to clients at all levels.
  • Highly organised and methodical- there’s plenty to do and we move quickly so you’ll have to keep on top of many spinning plates
  • You’ll be using a variety of software platforms so a good understanding of Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Presentation software is essential.
