Why We Need You
Looking Glass Factory is looking for an Office Assistant to work out of our Greenpoint, Brooklyn office. In this role, you will be working directly with our Office amp; Operations Manager. You'll be working part-time (2-3 days a week) with a small and passionate team of inventors, artists and engineers making a new interface for holographic interaction and interface.
In this role, you will primarily be:
- Performing general office clerk duties and errands.
- Processing, sorting, and routing incoming and outgoing deliveries amp; shipments.
- Be the main point-of-contact for all local and international shipments with our main courier partners (FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS, and more).
- Monitoring and managing inventory of office supplies; order and distribute office supplies as necessary.
- Light administrative tasks, including updating and sorting files, drafting and proofreading correspondence, and conducting research.
- Helping organize and maintain office common areas.
- Assisting with the coordination of events as necessary.
- Creating, maintaining, and entering information into databases.
This is a very hands-on role and will require some heavy lifting at times. You must be comfortable handling large shipments and packages that come through to the office, as well as different types of computer hardware.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in an office setting
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and comfortable working independently
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including strong spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills and ability to operate general office equipment
- A can-do attitude with the willingness to take initiative when the opportunity rises
