Job Description

The AVP, Hotel Investments role is an integral part of the CIM team. You’ll work in a supportive, growth-oriented environment and gain valuable exposure to CIM’s hospitality assets and investment platforms in addition to each element of the capital stack. You’ll also gain experience with direct acquisitions, joint venture investments and public-private partnerships. In this role, you’ll be responsible for assisting in the acquisition effort and evaluating investments as well as preparing investment committee memorandums and related support. You’ll also underwrite potential acquisition and development opportunities, manage the transaction due diligence and closing processes, and monitor existing investments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Act as the central source of information for all aspects of the investments.
  • Coordinate all internal analysis, memos and due diligence work.
  • Manage/coordinate internal and external parties such as developers, sponsors, legal, and other consultants.
  • Manage the execution of the entire transaction including but not limited to the diligence and closing process, ongoing asset management decisions and disposition.
  • Ensure that the financial modeling and investment structuring concepts are fully addressed in the underwriting.
  • Prepare the investment recommendations and coordinate the Investment Memorandum
  • Review and refine Asset Management Reports and prepare additional analyses and summaries to evaluate transaction status and investment performance.
  • Understand the risk/return characteristics of investment opportunities.
  • Manage a number of different transactions and deals at once.
  • Develop external relationships for the purpose of sourcing hospitality related transactions.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Master of Business Administration from a top-tier business school or at least three years of prior work experience
  • Strong Excel skills including ability to do advanced modeling, including multi-tiered promote structures, sensitivity tables, pivot tables and scenario analysis and proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
