Contract specialists are experts in everything and anything to do with contracts between their company and its clients. This is a full-time, manager level position, requiring shrewd contract negotiation skills and excellent interpersonal skills. We are looking for someone with outstanding attention to detail, high energy that has a positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-output, team oriented, practical environment.
The position plays a key role in the development and continuous improvement of the contract management function within Coupa Software Inc. This position will require significant multi-tasking and willingness to take on various contract management-related analysis as assigned. We are looking for an independent, self-starter who works well autonomously, and is comfortable accepting new challenges and overcoming them with little to no oversight. On a daily basis you will:- Review and approve/reject legal contract terminology on the basis of Coupa’s legal framework
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external executives and be capable of contributing and influencing key commercial and contracting decisions; prepare detailed descriptions of contract actions.
- Participate to customer calls and directly negotiate terms
- Support the integration of acquired companies through the negotiation of contractual novation and transfers
- Coordinate with Legal team as required
- Work as part of a multidimensional team and work cross functionally with various groups within Coupa (sales, sales operations, deal desk, legal, finance/rev rec, etc.)
- Professionally manage confidential information
- Ensure that applicable contract documents comply with established business format.
Our Ideal candidate will have:- 4+ yrs. relevant experience as a contract manager with exposure to complex, risky deals with proven team management experience;
- Deep experience with managing contract and commercial issues and understanding main commercial principles;
- A legal background and/or experience negotiating commercial SaaS contract terms;
- Ability to prioritize workload, assume ownership of work and follow tasks through to completion
- Exemplify a strong attention to detail;
- Possess superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines;
- A solid understanding of legal terminology;
- Strong problem solving;
- Strong analysis skills as well as program and project management skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and negotiation, skills;
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office and G Suite;
- Experience with business intelligence, reporting amp; analytics tools; Salesforce.com (SFDC) a plus
- excellent risk identification, analysis, and problem solving skills;
