Your Job:
As the Runner Insights Design Researcher, you will work together with cross functional teams on qualitative consumer research and innovation projects for Brooks. You will have the opportunity to craft ethnographic research design methods to help us get closer to our runners and experience the world through their eyes. You will collaborate with project teams to conduct research, synthesize, and amplify the most meaningful insights. You will lead the visualization of ideas and create prototypes to test and learn with runners. You will lead the creation of analog, digital, and virtual immersive prototypes to test and learn from runners. You will work together with project teams to craft inspiring visual story-telling that compels product and marketing teams to action. You will use illustration and visualization skills to bring abstract and complex ideas to life. You will partner in the creation of the Run-Sight Lab visual design language and ensure design continuity on all Run-Sight Lab outputs.Your Responsibilities:
  • Design
  • Contribute to the Run-Sight Lab design vision and expression and ensure visual continuity across all outputs
  • Collaborate in developing a design language that creates a clear and emotional connection between our work and our audiences of focus
  • Partner in the design and maintenance of the Run-Sight Lab space to be a creative and inspiring environment for collaboration and storytelling.
  • Use skills including illustration, design, photography, videography, and collage to visually tell the stories of runners as well as to prototype and innovate for runners.

  • Research Design
  • Lead the design/research process through prototyping and iterating.
  • Perpetually imagine and develop ethnographic research methodologies and tools that give our teams a greater emotional connection to the runner.
  • Collaborate with our project teams to evolve our empathy process to create the most impactful interactions with runners.
  • Bring an innovative spirit to our project teams and be a catalyst for imagining possibilities.

  • Research Contributor
  • As part of a collaborative research team, conduct analogous and secondary research, spend time in the market, interact with consumers and communicate with internal stakeholders to understand our audiences of focus.
  • Contribute to study design, moderate interviews, focus groups and co-creation sessions, and utilize immersive and innovative research techniques to connect with runners. Partner on data synthesis, and ideation for innovation. Lead the design/research process through prototyping and iterating.

  • Research Expression
  • Work closely with project teams to generate and bring ideas, prototypes, and concepts to life.
  • Prototype in low to high fidelity depending on the needs of the project.
  • Utilize the latest design and UI programs to build dynamic prototypes that allow us to learn and iterate quickly.
  • Immerse key decision makers in the runner’s point of view by Illustrating and producing inspiring visual story-telling that brings key stakeholders on each project journey and motivates and empowers them to take action. You’ll do this by creating presentations and/or immersive experiences that clearly demonstrate the runner insights and opportunities that were discovered as well as the ideation and prototyping that was developed and tested that leads to innovation.

  • Presentation/Communication
  • Along with your research team, you will present consumer research projects to internal teams and key external audiences.
  • Ability to simplify complex research and ideas into intuitive and emotional visual narratives that are adjustable in length and complexity to meet audience needs.

  • Contribute to the design, usability and maintenance of a research archival system/repository.
  • Partner in ongoing research around best practices, tools and processes for archiving and retrieval of research.
