Carpentry/Automation Supervisor Astor Place Theatre New YorkFull-Time, Permanent PositionBlue Man Group at Astor Place Theatre, NY seeks a full-time Carpentry and Automation Supervisor.The Carpentry and Automation Supervisor manages the New York show carpentry department and its daily operations. This experience should include leading a team to create a positive, energetic, professional work environment. Additionally, this position is responsible for leading work calls including upkeep, repair, maintenance and research regarding scenic, rigging, and props elements. Knowledge of carpentry, metal working, general facilities maintenance, and tool usage are essential. This position is responsible for leading the safe and consistent operation of all scenic elements within the theater. Experience with theatrical automation systems highly preferred.Supervisory responsibilities include, but are not limited to: scheduling department staff, availability for all department and company meetings, managing the daily operations of the department, running all show tracks, overseeing the maintenance of department equipment, departmental payroll. They will hire and train personnel, manage the department schedules, conduct employee evaluations, and create and manage the budgets, and other administrative needs in conjunction with the Production Stage Manager. Show responsibilities include performing preset duties, executing show cues as well as changeover and post show duties in a safe and timely manner, and work collaboratively with all other supervisors and managers within the company to meet all artistic requirements for the show.
