Hold your breath and dive into the action: you are about to live an extraordinary experience!The Wardrobe Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Head of Wardrobe in operation and maintenance of all Wardrobe for assigned show in the Affiliate Shows Division. Reporting into the Head of Wardrobe, you will assist them during the summer production to manufacture, fit and label all Wardrobe elements. You will contribute to the team as a hands on Wardrobe crew member, working with the technical staff to provide maintenance and upkeep of your assigned show’s Wardrobe items and schedule. Your main objective will be to maintain the artistic look of the show from performance and operational standpoints. The Wardrobe Assistant will: - Be responsible for assisting the Head Wardrobe with: the supervision and training of local crews, load-in, publicity engagements, on-going costume maintenance, fittings and load out of the assigned show. - Assist with troubleshooting technical problems; inform Head Wardrobe of any problems requiring maintenance;- Assist with the supervision of local Dressers during the show and be available for all quick changes, emergencies, understudy changes or unusual circumstances. Assist Head Wardrobe in instructing local Dressers on show cues and costumes changes;- Work with Head Wardrobe to create a cue sheet of all performance cues and costume changes during production. Continue to implement corrections necessary to maintain and/or improve the look of the show from both performance and cast standpoints;- Assist in establishing adequate Wardrobe security for backstage costume areas;- Be a flexible and calming influence on performance and local staff backstage. This is a costume show and the comfort of the performer, as well as compatibility and cooperation between cast and Wardrobe should be an on-going effort;- Inform Head Wardrobe of any problems requiring shop assistance;- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and clients;- Assist other departments on projects with short deadlines and/or peak workloads, as necessary;- Adhere to and enforce all established guidelines and safety procedures outlined by the company;- Other duties as assigned.The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:- At least three years of previous experience in Wardrobe in a live entertainment or related environment;- College diploma in a related field; or equivalent, relevant work experience;- Previous experience training, developing and evaluating staff;- Ability to perform assigned duties and responsibilities under minimal supervision, recognizing when assistance is required;- Previous experience working with theatrical costumes for large-scale productions;- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including but not limited to, standing, sitting, bending, crawling, climbing, crouching and kneeling, often for extended periods of time;- Ability to work in various environments exposed to elements including, but not limited to, dust, fog, etc. for extended periods of time;- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted; - Local to Denver as no relocation, lodging or transportation is provided for this position;- Fluency in English, both written and spoken;- Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
