Job Description

Position Title: Regional Sales Director Department: Sales PositionSummary: Accountable for driving KPI’s in Pre-Launch market development; including sales team recruitment, sales representative territory design maximization, hospital profiling as needed, assistance in field marketing tools assessment, and presentations to executive team on key factors impacting hospitals and their treatment of the approved indication within an ED and inpatient environment. Post-Launch will be accountable for providing leadership, direction, and developmental guidance to a team of Institutional Specialists. Will participate in the development and execution of strategic and tactical plans in order to meet and exceed sales goals and business objectives. Overnight travel weekly is required.Primary Responsibilities: The Primary Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: -Pre Launch: Team Recruitment and Market Development -Assist in design of region for optimal Institutional Specialist Rep impact, including recruitment and hiring of team. -Create, build, and maintain relationships and communication with critical HCP’s and key thought leaders within the assigned region. - Work with internal colleagues to engage more deeply accounts as needed. -Develop account profiles of key hospital specific factors that impact launch strategy. -Participate in cross-functional activities as needed to prepare BioXcel for launch (launch planning, sales training development, sales operations development) -Post Launch: Launch Execution and team development. -Deliver on corporate objectives specific to region. -Lead, coach, motivate IS reps to achieve/exceed sales objectives. -Engage field team frequently, including field visits and business reviews. -Involvement in key accounts as necessary -Work with internal colleagues (medical, market access) to eliminate barriers to success at an account/regional level. -Provide verbal and written feedback to foster collaborative and productive environment of achievement that embraces personal accountability of IS team and self. -Recognize and reward strong performers, holding entire team accountable. -Convey appropriate and professional image to external customers that is aligned to BioXcel core values. -Strictly adhere to BioXcel code of conduct guidelines, T/E policy, and other policies as written; as well as ensuring IS reps comply. -Additional responsibilities as assigned.Training and Education: Bachelors Degree in the health sciences, business/marketing, or related field.Prior Experience: • Experience and success selling a Paradigm Shifting product in a hospital environment. • Experience and success in Total Account Call scenarios, with multiple specialties and provider levels, aligning behind utilization and process of a products use in the hospital. • 8-10 years of experience in life science commercial position, including but not limited to the following: sales representative, hospital representative, national accounts, key accounts, sales management, sales operations.• Previous sales management experience required (5+ years) • Recent experience in managing key accounts in the hospital market, specifically in areas in which formulary management and hospital infrastructure impacted appropriate drug utilization. - Hospital Focus Areas: Emergency Department Call points and experience Psychiatry department experience with physicians, advanced practice providers, and key staff Hospitalist Call point experience, hospital floor contacts with nurse managers and case managers. • In depth understanding of hospital pharmacy and hospital drug review processes • Product Launch experience required • Experience in a combination of large and start-up companies preferred. • Experience managing IDN key contact relationships Competencies: • Accountability and Ownership: Maintains focus on sales results over time despite barriers.
