We are looking for a dynamic, hands on technical manager who thrives on new challenges and is excited about staying close to the code. In this role you will be leading a team that builds modern web applications that perform at scale using best of breed technologies. The ideal candidate must work well in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You will work closely with your peers in cross functional teams and be the champion for the team’s technical roadmap and architecture.Impact you will make in the role:
  • Manage the performance and professional development of a team of up to 14 software development professionals. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting performance reviews for the professionals
  • Define the strategic direction as well as implement efficient scrum-based software development processes
  • Work with Product Management to develop and execute on short, mid, and long term product roadmaps
  • Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery
  • Provide technical guidance to the team through coaching and mentorship
  • Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing best practices
  • Lead by example with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship and focus on quality
  • Collaborate with other software engineers, product managers, and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain
  • Hire and develop talent within your team
  • Continually look for ways to improve our code base and evaluate new technologies
  • Deliver clean code and automated tests
  • Work with executive teams to champion the team and influence direction
Expertise you will bring in:
  • Masters Degree in Computer Science or some other technology discipline
  • 5+ years managing software engineers in a SaaS environment
  • Excellent time management skills with an emphasis on managing remote resources around the world and across many different time zones
  • Significant experience with CRM with an emphasis on eMail, calendar, and task management in CRM processes
  • Long term vision that promotes short term deliverables in quarterly release format based on factual, data driven scope definitions
  • Strength in planning, scheduling, executing, and finalizing delivery on regular two-week sprint cycles based on individual capacity and team velocity
  • Experience leading all ceremonies for a Scrum team, including daily scrum, end of sprint retrospectives, sprint planning, grooming meetings, and prioritization of work; participate in Scrum of Scrums and biweekly Sprint Reviews
  • Ability to identify and coordinate delivery of dependencies across multiple teams and products
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes and DevOps
  • Understanding of asynchronous technologies
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and across differing types of audiences
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with differing consumers, stakeholders, team members, partners, and customers
  • Prior experience with scrum-based software development tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence
  • Experience with Python and Angular systems. GoLang experience is a plus.
  • Experience with object-oriented design, development, RESTful APIs, testing methodologies, server-side programming languages (PHP is a must), web services, and relational databases
  • Prior experience with a large-scale enterprise product and/or distributed SaaS systems
  • Experience conducting weekly one on one meetings with staff, setting corrective action plans, executing action plans, and tending to the needs of the team
