The problem you’ll be solving:
As Shippo scales, our carrier network growth will be a driver for success as we enter new markets and our coverage in our existing markets. We are looking for a Senior or Principal PM to increase our velocity for carrier onboarding and maintenance. You’ll be working with a dedicated team of engineers and tech lead to determine how to build a framework and tooling that enables our scale - increasing our carrier onboarding velocity by 4x each year for the next two years.
Who you are:
You are a seasoned Platform PM that has worked at scaled organizations onboard hundreds of integrations or provided platform frameworks for such teams (the latter is preferred). You know how to spot bottlenecks in the process, you understand how to leverage technology to greatly increase throughput, you know how to seek input from various members to create tools that step-function improvements, and you know how to create effective systems that give internal stakeholders visibility on the integrations.You share your team’s objectives, you are a strong collaborator that the organization trust, you quickly become the subject matter expert, you know when to default judgment to others and when you should take lead, you reach consensus through rationalization and data, and you seek to continually improve. What you’ll do- You’ll work with the entire organization, and most particularly with the carrier expansion teams, to understand their process flows and determine the variables that will ultimately determine your success.
- You’ll work to define the overall carrier platform vision and strategy that will enable the rapid growth of our carrier platform capabilities.
- You’ll build a roadmap that extends from the product strategy that is achievable yet ambitious with shared buy-in across the organization.
- You’ll work with your tech leads and engineering teams to design iterative versions of this platform with measurable improvements.
- You’ll identify quick wins that have a meaningful impact in the short term while we improve our platform maturity over time.
- You’ll highlight risks and proactively seek to mitigate them.
- You’ll help us scale our product and engineering organization through recruiting, hiring, and interviewing.
Requirements- 5+ years of product management at a technology company
- Experience working on platform products within SaaS providers
- Experience working on integrating hundreds of providers
- Experience working on developer products, API products, and platforms
- Experience working across all phases of the SDLC and understand both the excitement and challenges that developers face at each phase
- Proven experience working cross-functionally and leading through influence, not necessarily through authority
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for a variety of audiences with a wide range of skill levels and technical backg
