THE CHALLENGE
Eventbrite is a big, bustling marketplace where anyone can post an event in minutes or buy a ticket in seconds. The Policy and Platform Operations team works behind the scenes to ensure our creators get paid and our attendees find amazing events. We make great experiences happen reliably and without unnecessary risks even as Eventbrite launches innovative features and expands into new markets across the world. Our data analysts are focused on developing metrics to show that the team demonstrably improves the trust our users have in the platform while staying efficient.
THE TEAM
The Policy and Platform Operations team is a small, high-performing, multi-disciplinary team ranging from payment specialists to fraud data scientists to platform policy designers. We work together toward the common goal of making Eventbrite the trusted marketplace for live experiences. We are vigilant for emerging problems, and we strive to solve them together with a flexible approach and a thirst for innovative solutions to complex problems.
THE ROLE
You will design and maintain the metrics at the center of our team strategy and develop the insights that keep us as efficient and effective as we can be. You will work with Platform Operations managers to develop metrics that track program efficiency and help define what platform trust means for our users. You will work with analysts and business partners across the company to leverage data from our full catalog of product features, to tie our team metrics to critical business metrics like retention and customer satisfaction, and to share the team’s results with our partners in Product, Finance and Policy. As you identify opportunities for improvements in both efficiency and trust, you will collaborate with decision and data scientists to push your ideas from the lab into the field. THE SKILL SET- Expertise in producing actionable reporting, dashboards, and data visualizations using business intelligence tools such as Tableau (3-5 years)
- Expertise in SQL including designing ETL data processing to provide stable reporting in a dynamic data environment (3-5 years)
- Experience with statistical analysis packages for insights development such as pandas, R, STATA, SAS, or Microsoft Excel
- Proven ability to collaborate closely with business stakeholders on data-driven decision making and turning analytical insights into actionable recommendations
BONUS POINTS- Experience tracking operational teams especially in an anti-abuse space such as fraud, spam, content policy, or trust and safety.
- Understanding of big data and data processing technologies like Spark, Airflow, Hive, and/or Presto
- Active Eventbrite user with a passion for live events
