Job Description

The Harris Poll is seeking an intern for our client service team. In this paid internship, you will work on custom primary research projects (qualitative and quantitative) and help team members solve clients’ business issues, inform brand strategy, message development and campaign effectiveness, and strengthen reputation and position as a thought leader. You will work with a seasoned team of researchers, including a close mentorship with a senior analyst on the team, and be part of a highly energetic, driven, entrepreneurial team. You will gain exposure to high profile thought leadership research for some of the biggest companies in the world that garner earned media attention and visibility for their brands. Your contributions to the team will help provide insights and strategic guidance to help our clients best activate their brands in the marketplace. The ideal candidate has interest in market research across a variety of primary research methodologies and industries.Responsibilities
  • Shadow senior member of the team on client calls and communication, providing ad hoc support at all stages of a project lifecycle including:
  • Designing survey questions
  • Testing surveys
  • Reviewing survey data
  • Reviewing data tables, data files
  • Analyzing data into preliminary client deliverables and reports
Skills and Qualifications
  • Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree
  • Interest in public opinion, newsworthy topics, and an eagerness to think about how research helps to elevate a brand’s presence and image in the marketplace
  • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail and results oriented
  • Able to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere
  • Ability to self-direct, work independently and collaborate and communicate effectively with a cross-functional team
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the quantitative and/or qualitative research process
  • Basic experience developing screeners, questionnaires, discussion guides and analytic reports
  • Data visualization skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and related computer software packages, SPSS a plus
