Overview: As Director of Strategy amp; Research, you own the research and strategy function in Seattle. You collaborate with the General Manager and leadership team to help us reach our full potential and are vested in our success. As Director of Strategy amp; Research you are passionate about the craft. You are client facing and a lighthouse for our brand by being enthusiastic about projekt202’s capabilities within the market.
Position Summary: As Director of Strategy amp; Research your partner with the General Manager and Local Practice Leaders (LPLs) to deliver outstanding client services. You are a highly skilled strategist, well-versed in how the service offerings of strategy and research fit with our consolidated offerings and partner with leads across the company to further evolve and hone your craft. You are an excellent people manager, inspire and grow your team to deliver their best. Revenue generation, chargeability of the team, and quality of delivery in the assigned geography are key focus areas. Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Partner with clients to develop a balanced understanding of their business, customers, and markets and create business cases for product and service innovations
  • Develop relationships with key client stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor to clients and our delivery team
  • Collaborate with other practices and practice leaders to shape a strategic vision for clients, based on research insights
  • Lead teams through the writing and communication of a strategic vision for product and service innovations to clients
  • Contribute to research work when needed design surveys, analyze data, interview users, develop and present insights and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Ensure quality delivery of research and strategy engagements across the Seattle portfolio
  • Drive conversations with clients during sales activities to understand their needs, create comprehensive, flexible, and budget-sensitive approaches
  • Partner with business development to help them understand and articulate key differentiators of the practice’s capabilities
  • Understand quantitative and qualitative research methods, and estimate work, utilizing senior researchers when needed
  • Attract and retain highly skilled individuals to join the Seattle research and strategy team; partner with recruiting on interviewing and ensure recruiting campaigns are targeted to the right individuals
  • Grow and develop researchers and strategists; ensure career paths are understood; delegate well and groom successors
  • Partner with the GM and LPLs to evolve local service offerings, positioning and messaging, based on market needs, and for varied, new and unique methods
  • Partner with the GM and LPLs to meet and exceed revenue goals for Seattle
  • Achieve chargeability targets for the research and strategy practice in Seattle
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in strategy consulting and delivering strategy engagements to clients (external)
  • Utilizes and understands quantitative and qualitative research methods as inputs to strategic work
  • MBA is not necessary, but nice-to-have
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a drive to take on new challenges
  • Highly skilled at data analysis and synthesis, with an ability to distill succinct recommendations to clients
  • High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and lead teams
  • Excellent communication skills

Education:
  • Bachelor and/or Masters Degree or equivalent in a relevant field of study (i.e. Business, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Interaction Design, Communications Design, Anthropology, Engineering, etc.)
