How Does This Position Help VTS Succeed?The Payroll specialist will enable the finance team to better support the continued growth of VTS domestically and internationally.You will own the process of daily data entry, accurate processing and recording of the company's payroll process for the US and Canada. You will also be the main liaison for internal communication.What Makes This Job Awesome?
- Process and maintain records of employees (new hires and terminations) across multi-jurisdictions
- Audit all employee earnings, including retro salary changes, adjustments, in addition to hours worked, exception time and commission and bonus payments for US and Canada payrolls
- Execute time and attendance processing
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Audit all employee new hire, termination, and garnishment and benefit adjustments
- Ensure compliance for taxation of healthcare benefits, garnishments etc.
- Process off-cycle payroll
- Manage internal communication regarding payroll
- Manage reporting of audit reports,post-payroll reports and general ledger files and month end reporting
- Manage communications re tax notices and with state and local authorities
What Makes You A Great Fit?
- Can do attitude- proactive!
- BS or BA Degree in Business Administration
- 2+ years of experience processing multi-state payroll- Canadian payroll experience a plus
- Working knowledge of federal and state regulations
- Experience with ADP, Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills- able to communicate interdepartmentally
- Strong attention to detail and time management
