Our brand is alive and well today, and we look forward to bringing our shows back to our audiences with new health and safety measures, ensuring the wellbeing of our employees and fans.Our hearts are pounding at the thought of reopening our theatres and big tops across the world and we are excitedforthe future of our company!Hold your breath and dive into the action:are you ready to work forone ofCirque du Soleil’smosticonicshows?We are looking for an underwaterdiving specialistto fill the position of Aquatics Technician.As part of our expert dive crew, you will report to the Aquatics Supervisor and as part of the expert dive team, you will play a key role in the show’s performance and be responsible for the safety of our artists and technicians while in the water.The?Aquatics Technician will:?- Ensure all departmental designs, equipment, systems, functions, procedures, show tracks, maintenance and inspection logs, special projects, etc. are properly and adequately documented;- Work with the Aquatics Supervisor and Artistic amp; Stage Management staff to support their needs during rehearsals, training, and performances;- Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsals,training, maintenanceand evening showperformances;- Develop a thorough knowledge of all department equipment specific totheproductionin order tooperate equipmentsafely;- Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show; participatein all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue proceduretraining;- Take active role in Rescue Scenarios and Contingency Plans throughout theatre with regards to water safety;- Remain underwater for a period of 90 minutes or more, twice a night, during the running of the shows and perform the designated pre-determined set of activities in accordance with the Aquatics Cue Track Book;- Safeguard both technicians and artists during both the running of the performance, as well as during training and maintenance periods in underwater, as well as on-stage while acting as ‘Deck Safety Officer;- Perform maintenance duties that would include, but not be limited to, operating the Scuba Tank Air Filling Station, servicing and repairing all scuba gear used in the theatre, vacuuming of the theatre pool and assisting all other theatre departments with their maintenance projects, installations and repairs as needed;- All other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Supervisor, or Lead Diver.The ideal candidate will:- High School Diploma and or GED required;- Possess a current Professional Scuba Diving Divemaster Certification, (or higher) with a known accredited certification Agency, as well asvalidCPR, first aid, AED certifications;- Possessa state of health that facilitates the extensive scuba diving and essential functions of the job;Comfortable with wearing a Full Face Scuba Diving Mask and be able to lift, push or pull heavy loads (50 lbs or more), including pulling Performing Artists through thewater column;- Fluency in English, both written andspoken;- Ability to communicate safety and security to individuals using non-verbal communication;- Professional appearance anddemeanor;- Available to work varied shifts, including weekends andholidays;- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook);- Abilityto work well under pressure;- 10-hour OSHA course completion cardrequired.Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group is an equal opportunity employer.
