Superpedestrian is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager who will be responsible for the development and execution of our global sourcing strategies, with a specific focus on the sourcing and supplier management activities of our electronics components. The successful candidate should have extensive experience working with electronic component suppliers, distributors and manufacturer’s representatives
What you’ll do:-Define, improve and drive global sourcing strategies for Superpedestrian through an actionable 1, 3 and 5-year strategy road map.-Manage sourcing activities and supplier relationships. Develop and execute, with input and consensus of all internal stakeholders, sourcing strategies that continuously achieve a competitive advantage.-Research and evaluate electronic components and sub-systems based on product development, marketing and long-range product roadmap requirements.-Lead projects to find creative solutions to address complex problems such as sourcing financial targets, cost out plans and establishing a pipeline of commercial and cost out ideas-Leverage analytics to evaluate the quality of information received and question any conflicting data-Ensure availability of components to meet our production schedules-Partner with Product Development teams to review design specs and recommend sources that can meet our volume, quality, flexibility, and cost requirements. Drive technical decisions that are aligned to strategic sourcing goals.-Schedule and lead supplier meetings to review commercial terms and technical roadmaps and formulate a strategy to convey product and market information back to the electronics sourcing and development organizations.-Analyze electronic components and sub-systems to create 'should cost' models that enable COGS (Cost of Good Sold) calculations early in the development cycle.-Review production product designs and execute value engineering activities to achieve product cost reductions, reduce BOM risk and enable long-term manufacturability by proactively identifying and recommending additional component sources.-Provide support to all functions of the electronics sourcing organization to enable a successful NPI process and the continuous production of all mature products.-Lead price, capacity, and contract negotiations for all electronic parts
What we’re looking for:-Minimum of 8 years of combined working experience in the engineering and Electronics Sourcing domains.-BS in business management, supply chain, procurement, engineering or a related field. MBA or other masters degree is a plus.-Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker-Results oriented and strategic thinker, with an ability to influence others.-Ability to effectively work in a multicultural global business environment.-Demonstrated ability to balance business and technical objectives in making sound business decisions.-Ability to develop key relationships, find and set up new suppliers-Strong quantitative and data analysis skills-Excellent English communication and presentation skills.Superpedestrian actively encourages applications from people of all backgrounds.
