In this role, you will be responsible for executing and further defining New Product Introduction (APQP) system deliverables:
(Internal Deliverables: Operations and Quality Gate Deliverables); (External Deliverables: Scalable PPAP)
As a member of Cross-Functional New Product Development Team(s), you will lead the development and execution of Operations and Quality critical subset of Product Development deliverables Pre-Start-of-Production (Pre-SOP).
MOO is seeking an efficient, driven and organized New Product Engineer Technical Manager to join the company’s fast-growing Print Production division. The Print Team is tasked with servicing all our valuable MOO customers from Small Offices, Home Offices (SOHO) and our large Business Customers (MBS).
This is an exciting opportunity in our Providence office for an experienced new product engineer that can adapt to a fast-paced production environment. This person must be efficient and organized to manage multiple project deliverables and meet deadlines.Responsibilities
  • New Product Introduction: (NPI) 80%
  • Contribute to the evolution and implementation of NPI processes and procedures
  • Makes initial decisions on products based fit and functionality as it relates to the part print and specifications
  • Support product execution from idea gate to initial working prototype and reproducible final product
  • Validate translation of customer requirements into specifications specific to product, packaging, and process
  • Deliver robust and manufactural products through strong understanding of NPI engineering fundamentals
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to maintain accountability, coordinate and execute deliverables
  • Proactive approach to Identify and Validate Operations and Quality deliverables at each product Gate review
  • Summarize and escalate NPI Operations and Quality (RAIL) issues to the Management staff as needed
  • Apply structured engineer principles to develop NPI contingency planning, risk planning and mitigation
  • Interface with third party test vendors as needed
  • Product Quality Assurance: 20%
  • Support the Supplier selection process through a site Assessment or pre-approval Questioner
  • Support verification of Supplier Capabilities and Capacity process analysis requirements (Pre and Post Sourcing)
  • Partner with Supply Chain on the selection and notification of vendors during the launch/change process
  • Owner of Supplier Quality issues that occur during NPI Gate phases (Pre-SOP)
  • Drive Supplier A3 timeline reporting philosophy on NPI Gate deliverables
  • Support Supplier Master sample development and approval of new product portfolio
  • PPAP (truncated) and PSW Supplier buy-off to decide when product can be released to Post SOP
  • Communicate and review (internal/external) Operations and Quality deliverables
  • All other as requested

  • Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of Launch gate deliverables, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, A3, etc.
  • Working knowledge of8D Problem Solving,Lean Principles
  • Effective use of Microsoft applications Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Problem solving and/or process improvement using a structured methodical approach (e.g. Six Sigma, PDCA, etc.)
  • Travel Requirements: Post Covid: Anticipate 20%
Nice To Haves
  • Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in New Product Introduction
  • BS in Engineering discipline or similar
  • Print industry experience a plus
  • Project management skills a plus
  • SSBB Certification a plus
