Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW: Will serve as a Spanish-language translator for media interviews for uniformed Red Sox players, staff, and personnel and assist all functions of the Red Sox Media Relations department. Media Relations serves as the liaison between the media and the ball club for all team-related public relations, including interview requests, credentialing, baseball information, and the production of daily game information and other press materials.RESPONSIBILITIES:- Translating
- Attend Red Sox Spring Training in Fort Myers, FL for all workouts and games.
- Attend all Red Sox home and road games during the regular season, all Postseason games, and any other events to be covered by local or national media at which Red Sox uniformed personnel are present.
- Media Relations
- Assist with daily pre-game notes for media use.
- Distribute credentials to media prior to home games.
- Draft, proof-read, and edit press releases.
- Facilitate daily media requests, including interview requests, baseball information requests, and credentialing.
- Provide office and administrative assistance as assigned by members of the Media Relations department.
CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS: - Spanish fluency is required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish
- Working knowledge of baseball and related statistics
- Must be able to work hours consistent with the 2022 MLB schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally consistent with the 2022 MLB schedule
