We are seeking a bright and passionate Hardware Engineer who can grow with our team to support hardware engineering and manufacturing development activities for our line up of Connected car products. You will lead to the successful new product introduction, (NPI). We need you to be willing to go the extra mile with executing, launching, and sustaining a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. If you’re a unique engineer who takes pride in your product, then apply now!What you'll do- Design Getaround’s Connected Car products by owning hardware architecture, electrical design and validation
- Hardware design of new products
- Work with all cross-functional teams (software, product design, industrial design, mechanical design, Autotech etc.) to deliver a successful product to market
- Validate your design: complete functional verification, signal characterization, power testing, system level testing and certification
- Bring your design to mass production by defining factory test requirements, assisting in software bring up, traveling on-site to the manufacturer to ensure the design is built and tested successfully
- Prepare for the future: work with and manage suppliers/manufacturing partners to establish mutually beneficial relationships for future product designs
- Troubleshoot Getaround Connect installations to turn every car on the road into a Connected Car
- Sustain and support existing hardware products
- Support product certifications i.e. environmental, FCC/IC, and PTCRB tests.
What you'll need - Bachelors or Master in EE or ECE, 5+ years Hardware Design experience
- Must have taken design from concept through to Production
- Strong EE fundamentals - ability to design high speed digital and or analog systems. This includes circuit modeling and simulation
- Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification and manufacturing support
- Experience with embedded design, processor and memory selection, various comm protocols (especially USB, SPI, I2C and UART), analog design (power supplies, amplifier, A/D, D/A, and etc)
- RF experience such Wifi, Bluetooth and Cellular is a strong asset
- Schematic Capture and Layout tools experience (Cadence OrCAD amp; Allegro preferred).Hands-on lab experience: soldering, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, bus analyzers
- Support product certification and environmental tests.
Additional Awesomeness - Experience with cars or the automotive industry
- Experience with domestic and international electronics component vendors and contract manufacturers
- Experience with electronics manufacturing quality control systems
- Strong networking protocol experience
- Programming experience in Embedded Linux, C and Python
- RF design capability: Cellular, GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth
- Product certifications: FCC, CE, ISED, and PTCRB.
