Job Description
Synthego is currently searching for a Senior Research Associate to join our Chemistry Research team. The candidate will work at the interface of the Chemistry research, Halo production, and cell team enabling a smooth flow of complicated projects.We are searching for a thoughtful and proactive individual to conduct, troubleshoot, and analyze experiments and assist other researchers with their projects. The ideal candidate is familiar with oligonucleotide synthesis chemistry and purification strategies, using common laboratory equipment, and has basic troubleshooting skills. Research experience and familiarity with Python or another scripting language are a plus.What You'll Do: - Perform oligonucleotide synthesis setup using Synthego custom equipment and assist in purification
- Develop, optimize, and run conjugation chemistry reactions
- Monitor in-line and end-of-line metrics for these experiments
- Learn how to run data-analysis pipelines to work up and report experimental findings
- Present experimental results to a larger group
About You: - B.S./B.A. in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or related fields
- 1-3 years of life sciences wet-lab experience including operating scientific instrumentation and/or working in a production environment
- Good understanding of chemistry principles
- Experience with lab-automation equipment, including oligonucleotide synthesizers
- Experience with handling DNA or RNA
- Experience developing and optimizing scientific protocols or Standard Operating Procedures
- Self-motivated and curious
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills
Nice to Haves: - Facility with Python coding or desire to learn
- Familiarity with cell biology and/or CRISPR is a plus
- AKTA experience is a plus
