The Role:Brooks' Consumer Insights team (The Run-Sight Lab - know internally as the "RSL") is looking for a Consumer Insights Intern, to support the quantitative arm of the team. Quantitative insights are a key component of the The RSL's process by providing scale and confidence.
In this internship, as a supporting member of the quantitative team, you will help execute research projects under the guidance of a research manager. Projects will use different methodologies but will heavily rely on online surveys. You will be involved in all aspects of the research process from scoping, creation, data collection, analysis, reporting and will have the chance to work on a range of subject matter from brand tracking to customer surveys.
An expert understanding of quantitative research is not required (or expected) but candidates should have a strong interest in this area and preferably have some relevant experience. While the focus of this role will be on quantitative research there will be opportunities to experience and participate in qualitative research as well. In doing so, you will collaborate with the RSL's Qualitative Researchers and Design Researchers to gain a complete understanding of the RSL process. The Qualitative and Design teams are key to the RSL's practice of applying design thinking to research. This will help you learn about the process and how it influences Brooks' products.
Regardless of the methodology your objective will remain the same - you will help uncover the most meaningful insights from runners all over the world and help communicate those insights to stakeholders.Your Responsibilities:
  • Help execute core tracking surveys in collaboration with a research manager
  • Help execute customer surveys in collaboration with a research manager
  • Manage the intake of survey requests from stakeholders
  • Collect research inputs from stakeholders and keep them informed of project deadlines
  • Provide administrative support for Qualtrics
  • Observe and participate in qualitative and design research sessions
  • Participate in team development meetings
  • Regularly check-in with the Market Intelligence team to be informed of the latest market data
  • Core Responsibilities: Vendor management and communication, survey design, survey programming, survey testing, conducting data quality checks, stakeholder communication, field management, analysis planning, report creation, ad hoc analysis, and distributing and presenting insights
Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree with exposure to coursework in Market Research, Marketing, Quantitative UX Research, Analytics, Statistics, Psychology, or Sociology or equivalentcombination of education, training, and relevantexperiences.
  • An interest in learning about the running footwear and running apparel industries
  • An interest in pursuing a career in consumer insights and/or research
  • Familiarity with fundamental survey concepts (e.g., quotas, weighting, screening, etc.)
  • A basic understanding of statistics as they apply to survey data (e.g., significance testing)
  • Ability to create, modify, and execute a project timeline
  • Experience working with survey platforms such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, or SurveyGizmo (Qualtrics experience preferred)
  • Experience working with survey data analysis tools such as SPSS or Q Research Software
  • Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Exposure to data visualization software such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • 6 months of availability
  • 4-year degree with exposure to coursework in Market Research, Marketing, Quantitative UX Research, Analytics, Statistics, Psychology, or Sociology
  • Knowledge of JavaScript not required but would be helpful
