Picture yourself here:When you join PPGNY as the Associate Vice President for Project Street Beat you will primarily support Brooklyn, NY with secondary support in the Bronx and Nassau. The AVP for (PSB) will set the strategic direction of the department in concert with an equity and sexual and reproductive rights and justice lens.Additional responsibilities include:
  • Lead all department operations including programming, budgeting, monitoring/reporting and annual and strategic planning.
  • Oversee the development of innovative programs and interventions with key stakeholders to enhance the organization’s impact on HIV prevention, sexual and reproductive health, management of chronic health conditions and wellness to vulnerable communities.
  • Identify and manage risks arising from strategic and operational activities or plans, projects and initiatives.
  • Work in close partnership with the Development team on fundraising-related tasks, including nurturing relationships with foundations, corporations and/or individual donors and supporting efforts to connect donors to Project Street Beat initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Risk and Quality Management and Research and Evaluation teams to maintain program quality standards and relevance by assessing current programs and developing new initiatives to meet community needs and organizational vision.
  • As part of management team, accepts individual and joint responsibility for and participates in departmental efforts to comply with all organizational and quality assurance guidelines, and all applicable government regulations;
  • Works effectively with volunteers, PSB Health Promoters, trainees and temp agency personnel.
  • Work with Finance Department in budget preparation and fiscal oversight to ensure internal controls and regulatory compliance. Develop and oversee department budget including monitoring variances in revenue and expenditures;
  • Cultivate relationships with community and other partners (community groups, CBO’s and federal, state, and city agencies). Promote the values and work of PPNYC by engaging with community partners and presenting at special events, community and governmental partner meetings, professional conferences as well as participating in key external committees, task forces and workgroups.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the agency in media, public forums, and organization events as needed.
You have:
  • Bachelors’ Degree
  • 10 years of work experience in organizations leading teams and managing director level or above
  • Extensive experience with communities impacted by HIV and knowledge of social determinates health faced by marginalized communities especially women, LGBTQ, and communities of color
  • Deep familiarity with national, state, and city agencies and key committees, task forces and workgroups addressing HIV/AIDS
  • Experience leveraging data to shape their perspective and resulting programs and strategies
  • History of collaborating with diverse groups of stakeholders to achieve ambitious outcomes
  • A deep passion for social justice and equity for all
What makes you stand out:
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Policy, Management or similar
  • Fluent in Spanish and/or other languages
Additional Compensation:
  • $105,000- $135,000
