Job Description

We are a lighting design studio and showroom looking for a proactive, personable, highly motivated and organized Employee Operations Coordinator. This role is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function.

Lindsey Adelman Studio is a lighting design studio founded in 2006. We design, prototype, build in-house, and sell light fixtures, working with a close circle of manufacturers to develop and produce custom parts. With more than 30 team members between our Manhattan studio and Los Angeles showroom, the studio is a creative environment that encourages collaboration and values an ‘in-service’ mindset.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters and maintains the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance.
  • Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
  • Communicates changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
  • Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's wage and salary program.
  • Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the Managing Director, on personnel matters.
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
  • Recommends, evaluates, and participates in staff development for the organization.
  • Maintains the human resource information system that meets the organization's personnel information needs.
  • Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
  • Integrate best practices for Diversity, Equity amp; Inclusion throughout the organization, and partner with the Creative Director, Managing Director, and Marketing amp; Branding Specialist on external initiatives

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including public speaking
  • Exhibits critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates skill in working independently and completing assignments with minimal direction.
  • Skilled in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices, and procedures
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office plus data analysis in Excel, Microsoft Dynamics, Solid Works, and Adobe Creative Suite.
