Operational Intelligence DevOps Engineer

Denver, CO

JOB SUMMARY

DevOps/SRE Engineer has a passion for deploying software solutions that use the most current technologies and improve the customers’ experience. Responsible for applications deployments, OS software installations, Monitoring, and Linux system administration. Perform production support tasks including troubleshooting of Operating system and data issues for Operational Intelligence systems.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write and update automated scripts for the installation of server software products.
  • Configure necessary hardware/virtual machines.
  • Deploy code in on-prem private cloud environments.
  • Work with vendor and private cloud teams to update infrastructure and OS for applications.
  • Monitor systems performance, reliability, and daily data processing.
  • Participate in project-related stand-up meetings.
  • Provide documentation support as necessary.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Extensive experience packaging and delivering software to a production environment.
  • Good understanding of infrastructure concepts and administration (Linux, DNS, Network, Firewalls, and Security).
  • Well-versed in automating software deployments using tools (Chef, Python, Ansible).
  • Familiar with technology (inputs, outputs, and processing flows), and ability to clearly communicate that knowledge.
  • Ability to problem-solve, identify and resolve complex issues as part of a team.
  • Experience with software source control tools (GitLab, GitHub) is a must.
  • Experience with Linux shell scripting environments like bash.
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation for use by other team members.
  • Ability to work under limited direction and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Understanding Big data applications like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka is a plus.
  • Additional Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical team members.
  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have an engineering mindset, and be able to troubleshoot complex problems.
  • Strong ability to document and present complex data in an easy-to-understand manner to support critical business decisions.
  • Advanced logical and analytic skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate company values, maintain a positive demeanor, encourage different points of view and work thru complex issues.
  • Accountable to align systems, programs, and people with the company strategy and culture.
