Job Description

Hydraquip is looking for a candidate who wants to take the next step in their technical career to join our 100% employee owned company. Hydraquip is a fluid power distributor for over 40 world class brands of products as well as a provider of value-added solutions to customers including pump/motor assemblies, mobile valve assemblies, hose kits, repair, hydraulic power units and electrohydraulic solutions. The Repair Coordinator is responsible for the direct supervision of in-shop servicing and repair of hydraulic pumps/motors/valves, in-house servicing of test equipment, tool calibrations, and test stands, field service and repair of hydraulic units, and the training of new service techs.

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • In-Shop Service and Repair of hydraulic components and equipment.
    • Direct the inspections of components and equipment for repair needs.
    • Oversee purchase of tools and shop equipment for operations.
    • Direct quality inspections once repairs are completed.
    • Work with customers to quote both price and delivery of repairs
  • Field Service and Repair of in-house Equipment and test stands, tools.
    • Create work order necessary to perform equipment work required in the shop.
    • Establish schedules of outsourced services for in-house equipment.
    • Schedule and control the calibration of shop equipment.
  • Plant and Plant Equipment Maintenance and Repair, Housekeeping and Security.
    • Ensure that all plant and equipment required to perform repairs is kept in good operating and safe operating condition.
    • Schedule with outside vendors, where required, to ensure proper working condition and certifications, on specialized tooling and equipment required to perform repairs.
    • Maintain clean and safe work areas for all plant equipment and tooling.
  • Conduct responsibilities in an ethical and conscientious manner.
  • Support and participate in the organization’s continual improvement program and conform to ISO 9001:2015 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting Quality Management System objectives.
  • Manage communication with customers via phone amp; email.
  • Communicate with internal and vendor contacts to understand and respond to delivery needs.
  • Responsibility for generating repair quotes, repair order entry and sourcing parts for repair.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Training

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent secondary education.
  • Technical school certificate or associate degree is considered a plus.
  • Certified Fluid Power Mechanic, Fluid Power Technician or Hydraulic Specialist Preferred.
  • Experience as described below may be accepted in lieu of education.

Experience

  • Over five (5) years of experience in mechanical conversions, assemblies, and repairs.
  • Over five (5) years of experience in hydraulic and electrical diagnostics.
  • Over five (5) years of experience in client interaction.
  • Education as described above may be accepted in lieu of experience.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong mechanical skills and ability to diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Good leadership and mentoring skills in a shop environment.
  • Good, safe work habits.
  • Able to perform repairs for all major equipment systems.
  • Able to communicate effectively with all personnel as well as clients concerning repair and production orders in a respectful, productive manner.
  • Strong organizational skills amp; solid shop floor management knowledge.
  • Good computer and system knowledge.
  • Supervisory and management training in related fields.
  • Good business acumen.
