Anvyl is a high-growth SaaS company in the supply chain space that is transforming the way organizations manage suppliers, oversee production, and track in-depth product data from procurement to delivery of inbound goods. We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Product Engineer who not only worries about code quality, but thinks about how to best meet our customers' product needs. This position demands a high level of output, but also is a great opportunity for growth and mentorship. In this role, you will face many challenges - from building scalable systems to supporting new product features. Our ideal candidate is someone who loves to collaborate with others but can also work independently to take an idea from concept to implementation. We're a hardworking, energetic team that is passionate about our customers and believes that to be successful we should never stop learning: learning about our customers, our product, and how to build better software.
What You'll Do:
- Build and ship product features end-to-end for our core foundation team
- Work on our Ruby on Rails backend
- Mentor fellow engineers
- Make application architecture decisions
- Troubleshoot, debug and resolve software bugs
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and PMs
- Write well-designed, maintainable amp; testable code
- Be product-minded and think about the customer
- Work with Ruby, Rails, PostgreSQL, and Docker
- Work on a distributed team
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing web-based applications
- Experience writing REST / JSON APIs and backend services using Rails or a similar framework.
- Ability to solve technical problems independently
- Motivation to work hard and always be learning
- Experience working with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, as well as ORMs
- Experience driving, executing, and delivering high quality technical solutions.
- Comfortable working with ambiguous requirements and identify the right tradeoffs to deliver tangible results for our customers.
- Bonus: Experience with a modern front-end framework (Ember, Angular, React, Vue, etc.)
