User Experience (UX) Designer - Raleigh, NC

What makes you successful in this role?

As a User Experience (UX) Designer, you will own UX design strategically and tactically across the PCLaw | Time Matters portfolio of web-based and on-premise software solutions.

You will work with our team of product management, software development, client success and quality assurance teams to design and implement amazing experiences for our end users. Primary responsibilities include internal propagation and reinforcement of a strong user research culture, creation of standardized cross-product design systems and associated tools; oversight of design consistency across products and projects; creation of wireframes and mockups; iterative adaption of designs and workflows in response to user feedback and customer research; communication and collaboration with developers and other internal stakeholders.

Additional responsibilities may include participation in customer-facing research and input on other product aspects such as usability and navigation, labeling and messaging, and accessibility. You will also have the ability to influence the long-term product vision from a design and UX perspective.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work with product leadership to define, document and espouse design vision across the product portfolio
  • Creation of design system of standards and tools to enable software development teams to implement the vision in a high quality and consistent manner
  • Define design requirements for specific product releases
  • Identify and escalate UX and usability challenges within product interfaces and workflows
  • Ideate and collaborate with product teams on solution options
  • Work directly with developers for solution implementation
  • Create storyboards, wireframes, mockups, workflow diagrams etc. as needed
  • Testing of UI and workflow elements with customers and potential customers
  • Providing best practices advice and guidance to the company on the implementation of UX design, UX research methodologies and testing activities
  • Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) from a UX perspective
  • Monitor and enforce standards across multiple products and projects
  • Contribute to positive evolution of teams and products over time

Requirements

What would we like for you to have?

Required:

  • 3-7 years of user experience (UX) design experience within a software environment
  • Knowledge of UX design best practices and how to implement
  • Proven track record of influencing positive end user outcomes through UX design
  • Ability to listen to customers; understand and develop empathy for the challenges they face; advocate for customer experience
  • Experience working with Figma or similar UX/UI design tool
  • Passion for the disciplines of user experience, user experience research, UX design and/or related approaches to ensuring successful solutions
  • Self-motivated, self-starter see a problem, solve a problem
  • Ability to lead, influence and mentor teammates and colleagues within and across departments
  • Ability to self-project manage and prioritize tasks in alignment with business goals
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, fluid startup-like environment
  • Ability to travel on occasion

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent amount of relevant work experience
