Job Description
The Academic Program Director, BBA is the faculty member responsible for overseeing academic affairs for Quantic’s Bachelor of Business Administration degree offering. This individual ensures that all educational content in the BBA program meets the standards for quality and efficacy of the institution, regulators, and accreditors. They will also oversee a team of faculty members and graders responsible for answering student questions, providing high quality instruction and academic support, and grading student assignments. This position is fully remote.
Responsibilities leading up to degree release:
- Collaborate with the Instructional Design Lead, Subject Matter Experts, and Instructional Writers to provide guidance in topic coverage for all courses
- Lead the development of program objectives, curriculum scope, and projects for all relevant courses and the capstone project
- Collaborate with the Program Operations and Product departments to create operational and technological plans to support remote cohorts, particularly with regard to hands-on work and projects
- Hire a team of BBA faculty members and graders
- Assist the VP for Regulatory Affairs with accreditation applications and documentation
Responsibilities after degree release:
- Manage a team of BBA subject matter experts and graders
- Develop and implement academic program review and quality assurance processes, and drive evidence-based continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure that the BBA degree program outcomes remain current and relevant in the changing business environment
- Collaborate with the Program Operations team on processes for student assessment.
- Develop review processes for projects and assessments, and update or delegate maintenance as needed
- Review, grade, and provide feedback on student project submissions as needed
Requirements
- PhD or DBA in a business-related field, including but not limited to Strategy, Leadership, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Operations, Marketing, or Entrepreneurship
- 5+ years experience teaching business topics at the undergraduate or graduate level (as teaching assistant or professor)
- 3+ years directly managing people
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Leadership experience (e.g. chair, associate dean, dean) in higher education
- Experience in launching new academic degrees or programs, especially at the undergraduate level
- Experience meeting the unique needs of a diverse, global student population, and of adult learners
- Experience on project teams for institutions seeking accreditation or re-accreditation
- Strong theoretical and analytical skills
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Understand the industry trends, job opportunities, and educational market trends for BBA graduates
- Ability to analyze students’ performance data to identify trends and drive innovation
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience in academic assessment and feedback
- Experience in academic quality assurance processes
