At Demo Duck, we help businesses create video content for any mission. Our videos tell stories, educate customers, explain the complex, and humanize brands. We’re a small, creative crew based in Chicago (with many of us working from home at the moment), and we’ve produced hundreds of videos for everyone from startup founders to the Fortune 500.
JOB DESCRIPTIONWe’re looking for an imaginative Associate Creative Director to help us consistently produce visually engaging, strategically sound, and exciting video for our clients. This person would be managing our small team of internal visual creatives, helping them enhance their creative skills and grow their careers, but may need to get hands-on when the project calls for it. Think of this as player-coach role, where someone can confidently craft the visuals for projects themselves, but also lead others in developing top-tier creative as well.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conceptualize and develop video concepts, individually and as a part of a team
- Clearly communicate design and motion ideas to clients and freelance creatives
- Ensure creative team members are creating timely, quality work
- Team up with writers to craft treatments that clearly communicate the vision of a project
- Participate in discovery calls to help win desirable video projects
- Guide clients and team members to amicable solutions when projects hit creative roadblocks
- Help identify and recruit creative talent
- Provide learning opportunities for creative team
- Develop motion graphics direction for live action videos
- Create short, internal creative work, as needed
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of experience in design and animation
- 1-2+ years of managing creative team members
- Expert in Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects
- Knowledgeable in C4D
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Self motivated with strong organizational skills
