Summary:
As Spartan’s Staff Accountant, you will be in Golden, CO and will lead the financial and accounting operations of our company and its subsidiaries. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of an intricate and fast-paced accounting infrastructure. It will be important for this person to be a self-learner, builder of processes, and nurturer of people, as well as very comfortable with the budgeting and accounting processes that support the investment industry.
Major Responsibilities:
Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions
Managing the accumulation of all financial data necessary for accuracy of consolidated business results
Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements for auditors and tax professionals
Hiring, training, developing, and retaining skilled accounting staff
Maintain various systems and vendor relationships including Netsuite, Expensify, AvidXchange, ADP, amp; IMS
Leading the requisitions process for paying vendors and distributing returns to investors
Manage bi-weekly payroll, commissions reporting, and bonus/profit sharing processing
Liaising with Capital teams to ensure investor-level reporting stays immaculately recorded across systems
Working with outside CPA and Cost seg teams to manage special depreciation and special allocation schedules
Supporting the CFO to ensure controls are in place to keep track of cash and maintain minimum bank balances
Working with Asset Management, Property Management and Construction Management teams to ensure accurate property and project recording, support their requisition needs, and build out reporting infrastructure
Assessing current accounting operations for investment, construction, ownership, and property processes, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new systems and processes
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’ Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, CPA license or master’s preferred
10+ years of corporate or investment accounting experience
Leadership experience building and growing teams
Ability to use one’s own autonomy and creativity to be macro managed with mentorship
Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Netsuite, and tech integrations
