Job Description

We are seeking a creative, self-motivated individual with a passion for experimental science to join our team. The In vivo Pharmacology Research Associate position is a great opportunity to work in cutting edge science to support and accelerate therapeutic discovery for regenerative medicine.
- Help develop and implement disease and injury models for characterization of lead molecules
- Conduct independent in vivo studies and contribute to collaborative activities
- Perform extensive hands-on in vivo work including animal handling, compound administration, surgical procedures and tissue collection
- Perform tissue sample analysis, such as ELISA, qPCR, and immunohistochemistry
- Work collaboratively within a small team and across multi-disciplinary teams of research associates and scientists
- Maintain accurate, well-organized experimental records, perform data analysis, organize and communicate the results to team members, and present research progress at team and departmental meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Animal Science, Molecular/Cell Biology, Genomics, Biochemistry, or related discipline with hands-on research experience in either an academic lab or company setting
- Experience with rodent handling, restraining, and dosing is required
- Hands-on experience with rodent microsurgery or familiarity with ocular disease models is desirable but not required
- Proficiency in standard biological laboratory techniques, including hands-on experience with DNA, RNA extraction, PCR, ELISA, Western blot, immunostaining, and microscopy, is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to contribute to a team
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness and ambition to learn new techniques and take on additional responsibilities
