Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who wants to join a fast paced and dynamic company, recognized by the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and Military Branches, for contributions in development of cyber-electronics.

In this role you will be involved with mechanical design and packaging of high-speed circuit boards and systems that have tough requirements in thermal management including air and conduction cooling, EMI and RFI shielding, compact and rugged packaging constraints dealing with various MIL-STD environmental demands from ground based to airborne. These complex mechanical modules are associated with cable harnesses and related test fixtures, all of which have tight tolerances that support seamless system assembly, test, configuration, operation and servicing. The selected candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including RF/Digital engineers, systems engineers, test engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure successful development.

If you are an individual who loves working with small teams to solve hard problems in a fast paced environment, Spectranetix will be a great fit for you!

  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
  • Experience with Solidworks/Creo for 3D Modeling.
  • Experience with Product Life Cycle Management tools (Arena PLM), and Engineering Change (ECN/ECR) Process.
  • Experience with making 2D drawing and application of Geometric Dimensioning amp; Tolerancing (GDamp;T).
  • Experience with Thermal Modeling, Simulation, and Verification.

  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of machining and fabrication techniques.
  • Understanding of VITA 46, VITA 48, MIL-STD-810H, and other MIL-STDs.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Evaluate system requirements and devise hardware-based solutions to implement those requirements.
  • Capture design requirements and lead mechanical design effort while collaborating with Systems/RF/Digital Engineers
  • Produce and archive all necessary documentation for the design to ensure manufacturability.
  • Perform tolerance analysis at system and subsystem level as well as analytical analysis for thermal and structural components and sub-modules.
  • Assist with a project plan including key deliverables, timeline, and budget.
  • Work with other Engineers and CAD Designers on prototypes and pilot detailed designs.
  • Support driving full documentation of design including, BOM, drawings, and procedures.
  • Responsible for the research and selection of new suppliers with potential for turn-key provision of key subsystems.

Who are we?

Spectranetix is a small fast-growing company that develops and provides advanced multi-function RF systems for the U.S. Department of Defense. We design and build advanced, military standards-based, modular open systems architecture (MOSA) systems. These systems conform to the Army's C5ISR Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) and the Air Force's Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) Standard. These CMOSS /SOSA systems are used for multi-mission electronic warfare, tactical communications, signals intelligence, cyber-EW, high performance computing and often simultaneous operation of these capabilities.

Our parent company, Pacific Defense is focused on supporting the DoD’s disciplined movement to modular open standards and to mirror the way military services address EMS warfare holistic mission planning and execution. Products ar
