Micro Lab Specialist

Take environmental and water samples as required. Perform microbial analysis of water, raw materials and finished products. Record data in log books. Complete finished product release forms. Perform partial characterization tests on microorganisms. Maintain microbial stock cultures. Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is on 1st shift, and may require travel between local locations (within 20 mile radius).

***$1,500 Sign-on Bonus Details***

$500 paid at 60 days, $1000 at 6 months. Must be in good standing to qualify. Bonus will be paid on the next full pay period once milestone has been reached.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform microbial analysis of water, environmental, raw materials, and finished product
• Enter implementation of test and test results in log books and data release forms
• Perform quality control checks on microbiological media
• Perform partial characterization tests on microbial isolates
• Maintain microbial stock culture collection
• Execute environmental monitoring tests, including swabbing and facility air monitoring
• Perform housekeeping duties in the laboratory

Requirements

• Requires an associate’s degree with a strong emphasis in biological science. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Prior experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and customer specifications
• Ability to accurately document results of lab tests
• Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to write reports and findings and present to all levels of management in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to calculate simple math problems and compute rate, ratio, and percent
• PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) as well as experience with Gmail and Google Suite.
