Proposal Writer
We are seeking a Proposal Writer (Federal experience) with excellent research skills and the ability to write persuasively and articulately to create winning Federal Request for Proposal responses.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Apply extensive knowledge of industry best practices
- Determine proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities
- Coordinate requirements with contributors, and provide proposal status information in review meetings; translate solutions into effective business proposals
- Rewrite sections to change unclear or non-compliant text into readable
- Apply layout and other desktop publishing skills and evaluate and enhance text and graphics
Requirements
- Advanced MS Word and Adobe skills amp; proficient in MS Office
- Experience with Federal Government contracting in the IT field and developing content for all volumes of typical federal proposals
- Ability to translate complex ideas into easy-to-understand text
- Can estimate time for proposal deliverables and adhere to schedules
- Understands how to communicate difficult or sensitive information tactfully
- Understand proposal databases
- A bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English
- Demonstrated experience of 2 years (of the 7 total years of experience) using the Shipley Proposal Method (REQUIRED)
THIS POSITION REQUIRES RESIDENCY IN MARYLAND OR NORTHERN VIRGINIA and is PARTIAL REMOTE 2 DAYS A WEEK.
Only individuals with permanent work authorization should apply. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. Fully-vaccinated status for COVID-19 is required as a condition of employment. Hiring candidates with a permanent residence within commuting distance to Columbia, MD.
