Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Senior Buyer who wants to join a fast paced and dynamic company, recognized by the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and Military Branches, for contributions in development of cyber-electronics. In this role you will negotiate and procure production materials or services, capital equipment, and sell surplus and obsolete material. The selected candidate will be responsible for the procurement of assigned commodities, categories and/or services, while ensuring that FM policies and procedures for controls are followed in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with a proven record of executing the tactical and strategic duties of the Purchasing function in electronics manufacturing.
  • Proven track record for executing a visual replenishment (two-bin) system fed from a bonded inventory at supplier location.
  • Experience with IQC (incoming quality control) amp; QMS (quality management system).
  • Familiarity with MRP systems (understanding of how the MRP systems work and the ability to work in a manual environment with the absence of one).
  • Familiarity with PLM (product lifecycle management) systems such as Arena/Agile/etc.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of success.
  • Ability to create and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal communication, presentations, and business writing.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced high-mix-low-volume prototyping environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (primarily Excel).
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Current/active security clearance.
  • Prior purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.


What You'll Get to Do:

  • Ensure product is delivered on-time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost.
  • Plan and organize all elements of product manufacturing and distribution related to the acquisition of materials and services.
  • Carry out Procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFPs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis.
  • Be involved in all aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within a commodity.
  • Manage all schedules and purchase orders for the client account or the product family.
  • Respond to client inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Carry out activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and services to ensure terms are in the organization’s best interest.
  • Prepare purchase orders, approve payments, and negotiate prices to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly.
  • Compile price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to provide input on reasonable prices.
  • Prepare requests for proposals (RFP) and bid packages to take on new accounts.
  • Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries.
