Job Description
The Business Intelligence Software Engineer will help in building analytics solutions to support our major business operations. As we strive to be more efficient and more accurate in everything that we do, this position will have a critical role in maintaining and improving our current solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of an analytics project like requirements gathering, designing scalable data pipelines, building data models, and applying transformations to derive actionable insights from data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops quality enterprise wide ETL data load packages and reporting solutions to merge data from multiple systems including SAP S/4HANA (ERP), Epicor/Vantage (ERP), and Oracle Agile PLM. Utilizes SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Management Studio, and the Azure environment.
- Builds integration solutions between ERP systems and external applications.
- Designs and supports new project efforts and enhancements through all stages from analysis through installation using technical expertise across all functional areas
- Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements
- Upgrades systems, corrects errors after implementation, analyzes problems, and provides support for system issues

- Proficient in reporting and database development utilizing the following:
- SSIS/SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio: Design and development of efficient, business critical ETL packages.
- SQL Server: Fluency in complex Transact-SQL coding including stored procedures, views, database schema manipulation
- PowerBI: Security and access support. Development of security procedures to support new report development.
- Azure environment: SQL Server support and Azure console
- SAP S/4HANA
- Demonstrate strong Data Warehouse design and development skills to translate various data sources into relevant, consumable information for groups throughout the company
- Experience with ERP systems and PLM systems. Understanding of current systems, EPICOR/VANTAGE, SAP S/4HANA and ORACLE Agile, preferred.
- Experience with migrating to new ERP platforms and the integration of reporting between legacy and new systems.
- Possess strong analytical skills to resolve technically complex problems and obtain end-user results
- Demonstrate excellent project and time management skills including the ability to prioritize personal workload to meet objectives in a timely manner
- Demonstrate the ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions following defined practices and policies throughout multiple departments
- Ability to work under fast-paced conditions and to be available to work a flexible schedule, if needed, to support our business environment
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal relationship skills and ability to work effectively with other departments
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related program; at least 5 years of experience performing data warehouse development and ERP programming/support; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the Manufacturing or Biotechnology industry, preferred.
